This business trip is earned and it is an honor to be here.<br /><br />To be exact, 32 wrestlers have earned this trip to Council Bluffs, Iowa and 3 have returned to Detroit as All-Americans.<br /><br />I always encourage the Hawks to take plenty of pictures during this trip because there&rsquo;s no guarantee they will return. Some will listen. Some won&rsquo;t.<br /><br />One of the reasons coaches do this stuff is to give young people memories that will last a lifetime. We accomplish this at Henry Ford College by completing our mission statement which is, "to provide a positive athletic experience". The Hawks who successfully complete two years in the classroom and on the mat will cherish it forever.<br /><br />I recruit wrestlers who are overlooked by big schools as well as kids who cannot afford to go away to big schools. If they commit, they learn how to apply our TEAM&rsquo;s core values to their lives and become better people for this.<br /><br />What I do is fairly difficult, but I enjoy it. Approximately 40-50% of incoming freshmen wash out for multiple reasons. Kids quit. Kids get injured. Kids become in-eligible. However, the young men who listen and who are humble enough to be coached truly enjoy this program.<br /><br />&#8203;More importantly, this wrestling program helps young men finish two years worth  of college credit at an affordable price and avoid being burried by student loan debt.<br /><br />In closing, it&rsquo;s always my pleasure to see you again and I will hustle to return the following year with another group of young men who have earned this privilege to compete with the best junior college wrestlers in the country. The suburbs of Detroit have plenty of high school wrestlers who can benefit from HFC Wrestling.
