Adrian Barajas
I want to share an inspirational story on how wrestling can change a person’s life for the better.
Adrian Barajas contacted me in August and expressed interest in joining the wrestling club at Henry Ford Community College. During our short phone conversation, I learned two important things:
1) Adrian never wrestled before because his high school did not offer the sport.
2) Adrian was too heavy to compete.
Adrian weighed a whopping 350 pounds. Unfortunately, 285 is the maximum limit a wrestler can weigh in order to compete.
Practice started October 1st and Adrian is consistently present 4 days per week. The guys in the club who have experience with wrestling work with him on technique and educate Adrian about the rules. As a coach, I’m proud of the compassion, maturity and teamwork displayed by the young men in the club. I have witnessed an incredible transformation.
IN ONLY 5 WEEKS, ADRIAN HAS LOST 46 LBS. HE NOW WEIGHS 304!!!!
