...It isn’t that bad.
Accept a challenge and realistically work for it.
Let’s face it. We live in a world where most people are obese. Most people can afford to lose a few pounds, but it’s too difficult for the average person.
Wrestlers are not average.
Weigh-ins are part of our sport. It’s not disappearing. Be responsible. Be an adult. Make the commitment.
Focus on daily, solid nutrition habits and push yourself during practice. It’s really that simple.
Create a caloric deficit & lose pounds.
Ex.
If a Wrestler weighs-in at exactly 149 pounds, he may compete at 149 or higher. How long will it take to safely descend to 141-pounds?
149 x .015= 2.25
He can lose 2.25 pounds per week.
Week 1
149 - 2.25= 146.75
146.75 x .015= 2.19
Week 2
146.75 - 2.19= 144.56
144.56 x .015= 2.16
Week 3
144.46 - 2.16= 142.29
142.29 x .015= 2.13
Week 4
142.29 - 2.13=140.16
It will take 4 weeks before eligible to wrestle at 141 pounds
